VP Fundraising Report
Fun Run coming up soon. We have plans to adjust how we mark laps. Prize distribution is labor intensive and volunteers will be needed. Shirts will be ordered soon. This is the last big fundraiser. The Booster vendor will be used again this year.
Outdoor classroom will need additional funding. Decorative tiles will be used to help fund this exciting educational opportunity for the school. The company that is helping build the classroom is considering donating a significant amount of money to help fund the building. April or May for groundbreaking and building throughout the summer.
Tile Fundraiser: funds will be used to fund Outdoor Classroom. Cost $600. Families will donate $50-60 per tile
and are able to decorate which will then be used as a decoration in the outdoor classroom.
Spirit Wear Store will be opening next week. Decisions need to be made about what logos to select. There can be 3 logos per order. Sweatpants are well liked and requested by the kids. Camo and bright pink were all well liked.
Window Blind Purchases! This was requested by the teachers due to safety concerns and a lack of function of the existing blinds. We have been able to raise enough funds to get the school new blinds. Even the teachers doors and all exterior windows will receive new blinds. In case of emergency, all blinds can be closed so no one could see inside. Budget close to 30k on this line item. As a board and discussing with Principal Scherer and the teachers, we decided it was evident in an active shooter situation that we will not be able to protect the students sufficiently.
Library Mural. Fundraising funds have also gone toward school beautification in the library in the form of a mural and replacing another wall for a future wall mural.
VP Programs Report

Enrichment Report
In January Native Heritage Center and came and did a cultural presentation for the students. It was received well by the children.
Native Youth Olympics came in February during PE class. This was a grant- completely free enrichment program to the school that we are eligible every 2 years.
We are going to try for one more enrichment event before school lets out.
May 1-5: STEM Week at the school coming up. Wednesday night of that week will be a STEM Night at the school.

A survey is coming out soon (school climate survey). We encourage all families to participate.

President’s Report & Committee Reports
BVCA/PTA Winter Family Fun Event
Yearbook: Last year deadline was March 18. This year the deadline is the beginning of April. Families need to upload pictures on Shutterfly- it helps so much! Shutterfly is not going to allow this next year. We may be able to use Lifetouch to help with picture upload capability and yearbook orders. Brooke cannot do Yearbook next year; Minna to help next year! Last year 20 extra were ordered and they were quickly gone. We may consider putting out blasts on emails and social media to request pictures.
Book Fair: 5k raised ! This money goes toward stockpiling the vending machine. If the kids read 998 minutes in the Iditaread they will get a token to get a free book from the vending machine.
