Bear Valley Elementary PTA General Meeting 12/2/2021 Minutes

Call to order 4:06pm People in attendance: Kelly Todd, Meredith Bass, Carissa Cote Olivia Sims, Gracie Zamarron, Karen Limmer, Aimee Villarreal, Teresa Ulrich, Minna Allen, Lorraine Sucico

Secretary's Report: approved minutes from last meeting

Treasurer's Report: Bank account balance is $42,73.62

Talked about purchasing a Veriquest die cut machine for the teachers/parent volunteers

Fundraising report: Catalog items will be delivered to the school 12/10, spiritwear shipped this week. Texas Roadhouse fundraiser brought in $360 Papa Murphys brought in $300 -special shoutout to Papa Murphys, they provided pizza to the classes with the most cans for the food drive, as well as free pizza coupons for all of student council and coupons for teacher of the month. Programs report: good turnout for Trunk or Treat, more hot chocolate will be orders next time. We brought in $400 with very little planning, talked about making it bigger and better next year. Next year we should have people provide their own candy and not charge an entry fee for the people who are doing trunks. Principals report: reminded teachers of grants, get in ASAP Thanks to all who participated in the canned food drive, Student Council officers got to tour the facility. Testing season is coming up next week, fast bridge and MAPS testing

Important dates coming up: 12/15 holiday dress day (ugly sweaters) 12/10 hat day student council, $1 go to wreaths across America 12/15 6th grade band concert 12/10 GV Middle band presentation We are still looking for Noon Duties and Subs ELL tudor position open, ½ Rabbit Creek/1/2 Bear Valley Teachers are asking for new sleds, will add to the Amazon wishlist Presidents report: Holiday Store 12/13-16, sign up sent out for volunteers BOGO book fair will be on the stage that week also, Meredith will work that This is the last year that Lisa will be running the holiday store, we might look into other routes unless someone wants to take over the purchasing of holiday store items. Last book fair raised over $10,000 (2nd highest ever). This got us $5,100 in scholastics bucks divided between the teachers. Enrichment: Approved the 6th grade snow science program Yearbook: Brooke Carney is the new yearbook chair. Photos have been rolling in, we will want holiday photos. Brooke would also like input from the 6th graders on layout. Cover contest is rolling. We would love more help with yearbook if there are any volunteers. Minna Allen volunteered.

Voted to raise the school improvement category in the budget to $12,000 so we can buy Veriquest. Kelly raised motion, Aimee seconded. Vote approved.
